Our Commitment to
Black Lives Matter

At HerStry, we’re committed to uplifting women from all walks of life through the power of storytelling. This commitment extends to our firm support of Black Lives Matter and ensuring voices of BIPOC are prioritized and celebrated through our platform.

Inclusion is only the bare minimum of working toward a racially just future. HerStry’s readership trends mostly white. We work to be inclusive and yet most of our readership and submissions are from white women. But here is the thing: white women's stories have been told time and time again. So we’re making a commitment to diversify. To actively seek BIPOC writers, because if we are truly going to live into our commitment to be anti-racist, it starts with the voices we share and the stories we tell.

The reality is that no community is free from racial injustice, including the literary community. As a small team, we are always looking to do better, to learn and to grow. Below are resources we believe in and want to encourage our readers to support in any way we can, whether that's donating or using our wordsmithing powers to demand change.
