Poetry as Catalyst for Improvisational Writing

The art of Improvisation is one we practice in daily conversation. To hone your improvisational skills is a much more concerted effort and one that can lead to expanded consciousness as well as the production of awesome work. In the writing world this type of "improv" is sometimes referred to as "automatic writing" wherein a writer gives themselves a timeframe to just put pen to paper without planning or editing. In this workshop, I will explore how poetic devices can be used as a tool to better hone your improvisational craft which can aid development for larger writing projects.

*Participants will be sent a Zoom link 24 hours before the event.
