Submit It! A Guide to (Cataloguing) Literary Submissions

In this course, you will get information on how to submit to literary journals: what to include in your cover letter, how to craft the perfect bio, how to find and determine which journals are worth submitting to, and how to log your submissions. We will leave some time to submit to a journal together.
STUDENTS WILL LEAVE THIS CLASS WITH:
- A finished author bio of 2-5 sentences
- At least one piece submitted to a journal
- A flow-chart on how to determine if it's worth it to submit to a journal
- Info on cover letter essentials
- Info on standard/higher tier rejections
- How to navigate lit. journal rankings
About Robin:
Robin Van Impe is a queer Belgian writer with an MFA Creative Writing from Emerson College, where she served as the Fiction Editor for Redivider. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming from the Boston Globe, Fourteen Hills, Bending Genres, and others. She was a 2024 finalist of the Arts & Letters Unclassifiable Contest and was shortlisted for the Smokelong Grand Micro Contest. Robin works at Harvard Education Press and is a Flash Reader at Split Lip.
