Innocent Bystander

Innocent bystander
lying in a radiance of light
flickering fire feeds the desire
heart racing to a place to rest
temptation falters, innocent admired
contemplating clouds, sheepless sleep
Caterpillar curiously ceases to emerge in the dark
lies lose the silk knitted lace on the sheets
gracefully stumbled, beautifully discreet
heart humming nocturnes for the songless bird
the wind whistles longing to be heard
